Dedicated to Innovation and Digital Transition, this program has a total of 3.9 billion euros funded by the ERDF and ESF+. This program targets the less developed regions of the mainland and the Autonomous Regions to support innovation and competitiveness, energy transition, and skills for competitiveness.

Thus, within the scope of the Portugal + Smart objective, it includes interventions in digitalization, research, and innovation, as well as the growth and competitiveness of SMEs. Under the Portugal + Green objective, it will support companies in decarbonization projects and in supporting renewable energy production, and under the Portugal + Social objective, it will assist workers and companies in adapting to change.

This program will have a total of 3.4 billion euros funded by the ERDF and ESF+. It is particularly focused on territorial policies, which are strengthened by the ongoing decentralization process on the mainland and contribute to the majority of strategic objectives, particularly the goals of Portugal + Closer, Portugal + Green, and Portugal + Smart.

It includes an allocation of 60 million euros aimed at mitigating the socio-economic impacts of the transition to carbon neutrality, resulting from the closure of the Matosinhos refinery.

PROJECT SHEET

Dedicated to demographics, qualifications, and inclusion, this program will have a budget of approximately 5.7 billion euros funded by the ESF+ and is aimed at the less developed regions of the mainland, although some of its measures may cover the Lisbon and Algarve regions.

It includes interventions in the fields of active employment policies, education and professional and higher training, combating material deprivation, social inclusion, and equal opportunities, with interventions that, together, also contribute to addressing the demographic challenge, almost fully meeting the objective of Portugal + Social.
